Fighting CO2 pipelines workshop

CO2 pipelines have been proposed in Iowa for a year now. Thousands of Iowans including landowners, farmers, climate fighters, and folks concerned about the health and safety of their communities have come together to protect Iowa from pipelines proposed by Summit, Navigator, and Wolf/ADM.

People in counties across Iowa have been building up defense on the local scale for the last few months. Together we have learned that local strategy wins. Organizing people within our counties has built a strong force, and we’re just getting started.

Next Thursday, August 18th, the Iowa Carbon Pipeline Resistance Coalition will be holding a workshop to build and celebrate local power from 6-7pm.

The goals of this workshop are to...

  • Get clear on how powerful our resistance is and discuss recent wins (and how they happened)

  • Connect pipeline fighters across Iowa to share strategy

  • Dig in on county level to make sure folks have the support and resources they need

  • Prepare to ask tough questions at Navigator and Wolf’s “informational” meetings later this month, as well as understand what you can do if pipeline companies try to shut down local conversations

After attending the workshop, you will...

  • Know the difference between what an ordinance and objection are and how to talk about them

  • Develop strategy on how to win local objections and ordinances

  • Understand how to present information to your county’s board of supervisors

  • Have access to tools that help you build an argument against CO2 pipeline’s companies talking points

Click here to register! A zoom link will be sent the morning of the workshop.
