We need healthcare for all

And we mean for ALL

We believe every person deserves free, accessible, and culturally competent healthcare when and where we need it, no matter what zip code we come from or what language we speak.

But right now, corporations and their bought-and-paid-for politicians like Gov. Kim Reynolds are standing in the way of that vision. From Iowa’s failed privatization of Medicaid to health insurance companies denying medical care over 240 million times annually, it’s clear we need to get profits out of healthcare.

No matter our ability or identity, where we live, where we come from, or what we look like, we all deserve to be safe and healthy.

Iowa CCI members are fighting for:

  • A publicly funded, nationwide system that puts people before the profits of insurance companies and healthcare CEOs.

  • An end to Iowa’s system of privatized Medicaid, so that Iowans get the care we need, when and where we need it.

  • An end to unjust claim denials by for-profit health insurance companies that profit off keeping us sick

  • A people-first care infrastructure that supports family caregivers, pays care workers a living wage, and allows people to receive care in our homes and communities.

“Anthem treated me as ‘less than’ because I’m poor, because they think they can get away with it and make more money, and they’re doing this at the expense of my health. Lots of people just give up because insurers make this so difficult. We deserve the highest quality of care, regardless of our income.

Bri Moss, Iowa CCI Member from Dubuque.
